CLIENT PROFILE – AP Garden Care

If you enjoy beautiful flower photos, you should follow AP Garden Care on Facebook or Twitter. Peter Van der Heide, owner/operator, faithfully shares his experiences in photos daily. He takes beautiful pictures of details in the beautiful gardens he creates for his clients. Peter has put together a great team and their work speaks for itself – and their clients are always posting their gratitude. “Thank you for all of your work in the garden this week. It was a beautiful backdrop for photos and enjoyment as we celebrated Karen’s graduation.” – Pat Baldwin Phelps

Peter moved to Canada from the Netherlands in 1993. He received his Horticultural Technician Certification and began AP Garden Care in the North Vancouver area. In 2008, Peter and Anne moved to Chilliwack and started serving the Fraser Valley.

AP Garden Care provides full landscaping services, including design, renovation and on-going garden & lawn care. They will work with you to meet your specific needs & budget, for weekly, monthly or seasonal services.

Peter says “We are dedicated to provide a professional and personalized service to exceed our clients expectations in every aspect of their garden needs!”

Peter regularly uses Denbow’s blower service to install mulch, and this season he has contracted us as part of his team for a number of Terraseeding™ projects – both new lawn seeding as well as topdressing.

We thank Peter for always sharing on social media when we are working with their team… we appreciate the shout-out and also enjoy the pictures!

BCLNA Golf Tournament

Denbow recently sponsored a hole at the BC Landscape Nursery Association annual golf tournament.  We like to have a little extra fun for the golfers who are waiting their turn a the tee-box – this year we had a “Joey Jump”!  Players stomped on the launcher to try and get the joey to land in its mother’s pouch… hilarious 🙂

Congratulations to the BCLNA on a successful tournament!

The Business of Living Architecture

“Green Roofs, Living Walls and Rain Gardens:BC Business Exports Innovative Technology to North America. For Landscape Architects, the Sky is the Limit!”

In his April 2014 article in Sitelines, a BCSLA publication, Randy Sharp of Sharp & Diamond acknowledges BC Landscape Architects for their success over the past 50 years in living architecture and green roof design. The entire issue is dedicated to the innovations the industry has created.

Page 14 mentions the urban gardens run by SOLEfood farms – Denbow installed soil into the unique raised planters by blower truck.

Read on to page 16 & 17, and Denbow’s technical project coordinator,  David Adkins, writes about “The Dynamics of Bio-Engineering and Green Infrastructure”.  Let us know what you think or if you have questions about our green infrastructure products.

Adopt a Road

The Chilliwack Adopt a Road program was initiated by a local Scouts troop, the TCS Rosedale Scouts, and has expanded to include many other local organizations.  Under the Adopt a Road program, organizations and non-profit groups contribute to the community by cleaning litter from local roads on a regular basis.

As part of our commitment to community, Denbow has adopted a road near our facility in Chilliwack.  Craig and Todd took care of the road recently, collecting bags of litter.  Great job, guys!
