Throw Back Thursday two years to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, which raised $220 million world-wide.

The challenge involved people pouring ice-cold water over their heads, posting video on social media, and donating funds for research on the condition.  This week researchers announced that the money raised has helped identify a new gene behind the neurodegenerative disease ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease.  Read the full article here on CBC.ca
